In early 2020, we dramatically expanded the scope and size and features of COCA to make it even more useful for researchers, teachers, and learners. The Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) is the largest freely-available corpus of English, and the only large and balanced corpus of American English. COCA was released in 2008 and it is now used by tens of thousands of users every month (linguists, teachers, translators, and other researchers). For the first time ARCHER 3.2 makes the corpus available online via the internet. A first online version of the corpus will be managed by Lancaster University Computing Services, and a second online version will be managed by the University of Zurich, both on behalf of the ARCHER Consortium.
